“FUTURE SOLE, PLC powered by NIKE, an HBCU focused designing program created to discover, develop, and empower the future leaders and creators of the product industry. Joining forces with NIKE to create an industry certified education program, this 5 week in person class allowed students to be trained on how to critically strategize, learn the fundamental process of product designing from various industry careers and create a conceptual portfolio design project outcome. Through the guidance and mentorship from the PLC staff, students are prepared and given the opportunity to connect with industry professionals, develop industry knowledge and enter into a talent pool for some of PLC Detroit’s top industry brand partners such as Nike, JORDAN, Converse and more for future opportunities.” This was an amazing opportunity I got to experience in the summer of 2024 in Detroit. I applied and was accepted into the color + materials track and was able to create a curated CMF collection for our consumer which my team and I created. I studied what color + material meant within the footwear world and was able to create many connections.
